We appreciate the time and effort involved in submitting a job application and want to ensure that the process is as easy and positive as possible when applying for a role at the Regulator of Social Housing.
We shortlist our candidates against the criteria set out in the person specification, so recommend that you address how you meet this and why you're suitable in your supporting statement. Try to do this as concisely as possible, making sure to draw on your experience by providing relevant examples.
If you believe that you could add value to RSH but don't meet all of the essential criteria, then we would still love to hear from you.
We would love for your application to be a true reflection of you, your skills and abilities and so ask that you submit your application without help from other sources, such as others or AI.
We understand that AI can benefit your application in helping to refine and articulate ideas, or support you with researching more about RSH. However, we ask that you do not use it to write your supporting statement, or use AI during your interview. We value authenticity and want to truly understand your skills and experience, alongside what makes you unique and a great fit for working at RSH!
We encourage applications from all areas of the community, irrespective of background, belief or identity, recognising the benefits of a diverse organisation.
We want our workforce to be reflective of the community we serve. In order to support an equitable and consistent approach to recruitment, we carry out anonymous shortlisting for all of our vacancies, which means that our hiring managers won't have access to personal details before shortlisting.
We also work to identify areas of our workforce where we are underrepresented by those from black and minority ethnic backgrounds. Where this applies, we positively encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
At RSH, we're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer. This means that, if you are disabled, you will have opportunity as part of the application process to let us know if you would like your application to be considered under the Disability Confident Scheme and would be guaranteed an interview where you meet the minimum qualifying criteria for a role.
We are also committed to making reasonable adjustments where needed to ensure that disabled job applicants are supported throughout the recruitment process. Please do get in touch if you should have any queries or to let us know if you would like to request any reasonable adjustments, or you can indicate this on your application form.
Our interview process is tailored to the role we're recruiting for and to best assess how you fit the role. We ensure a transparent and fair process, giving you the best opportunity to showcase your skills and strengths. This may include competency-based interviews, presentations or online assessments. We'll let you know what your interview will look like in advance.
We carry out anonymous shortlisting for all our vacancies as part of our EDI commitment to ensuring a fair and equitable approach to our recruitment. As a result, please try not to include any information that makes you identifiable in your application or supporting statement.
To support with anonymous shortlisting, we'll ask you to complete an application form instead of submitting a CV, so please make sure you include all of your relevant work experience on the application form, as well as any qualifications, training and professional memberships.
It would be considered a conflict of interest for you to be or become a board member, active management member or employee of a registered provider, or an associated group and it is therefore not permitted during your employment at RSH.
Membership of a committee promoting the interest of tenants is unlikely to result in a conflict of interest, however this should still be declared if you are successful at recruitment. Please get in touch if you have any questions or are unsure whether you have a conflict of interest.
We have over 250 staff based across our main offices of Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, London and Manchester. All of our offices are modern and collaborative work-spaces, based in the city centre, within easy reach of public transport. We operate a hybrid working model, where our staff have the opportunity to work some of their hours from home.
In line with Government requirements to reduce the number of roles in London, we'll only advertise roles to be based there where there is a business-critical reason. Some of our roles also involve travel between our offices and onsite visits to social housing providers.
We'll ask you to send proof of your right to work in the UK prior to your interview with us.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship to those who do not already have the right to work in the UK. Following your offer, our screening partner Giant will be in touch to progress with pre-employment checks, including verifying right to work and references.
Our roles are broadly open to the following groups:
